The past days upgrades are made to several regional networks in The Netherlands. KPN is upgrading the regional and national networks during CET after midnight timeframes, and primarily in the weekends.

In generic these interruptions take a few minutes up to maximum one hour, and latest gone during early mornings.

If for some reason the VoIPDSL connection is not running in the early mornings, KPN advised us to let customers reset the DSL modems, which we kindly ask our customers to do before calling Vovone Support.

When the VoIPDSL connection keeps interrupted, please contact the Vovone Support Team on the known numbers; they are available 24/7/365 to help our customers solving problems.

KPN also noted that their upgrades will continue in (other) selected regions during the next weeks.

A major power-failure at the largest network hub in the Netherlands, the NIKHEF, has caused VoIP connection failures for our customers. No phone calls were possible for about 12% of our customers. The downtime started around 21.05 and lasted till 22.00 for about 8%, and 23.10 for the remaining 4% of our customers.

We apologize for the problems caused by this downtime.

The NIKHEF power-failure resulted in loss of Internet connectivity for many dutch based providers, including KPN Business DSL. But also international connectivity was affected, due the major international network role of the AMS-IX. The NIKHEF data-center hosts more than half of all foreign and domestic AMS-IX peering traffic. The graph below shows a clear ‘dip’ in the AMS-IX traffic curve, showing more that 50% lower data traffic starting around 21.00 CET.

AMS-IX announced via ANP news that further investigation is needed to determine the cause of the sudden, but complete power-loss in their primary data-center.
